Background[edit | edit source]

Tenshi Xi Kandao was officially confirmed by the Parliament three days following her parent's death. Rodric found little support among the citizens, but found increased support with an elite group of nobles who also sat on Parliament. The conditions were ripe for a counterrevolution.

On Princess Tenshi's coronation day, Rodric approached the holy throne and threw the coronet aside from her head. From there, he took a stun gun (police issue) and paralyzed the newly-crowned Empress. He unveiled a leash and collar, hooking it around her neck and dragging her down the Imperial 28 steps in front of the throne, later kicking her several times at the bottom. Following this, he fled and raised his flag in rebellion against his sister.

Initial Actions[edit | edit source]

With the Empress in a critical state of health, Marshal Roruk Cal'thur was placed in command of the Military. One of the few purely Caitian people left in the Empire of Kyrona. Marshal Cal'thur called for the military to draw plans for massive defenses, upon learning that this new Princedom Association of Nobility purchased several bands of mercenaries to bolster their already-large forces. The first official contact was a battle near the city of Jvoran, one of the cities divided in half on opinion. Street militias and gangs of ruffians clashed with weapons made over an age ago on the streets. Soon, both sides moved in soldiers to bolster these gangs, and the war really began.

A series of defeats occurred as the rebel forces managed to secure the planet-side navy. Imperial forces were pushed off the planet and onto the second moon, where the Empress finally made her full recovery.

The Army of Light[edit | edit source]

The Empress moved back down planet-side once her wounds were healed, and her anger great enough. Upon returning to Kato, the Empress was well-recieved, as the people rejoice and shouted for their Empress. In a landmark speech from the balcony, the Empress spoke of being the light in the darkness, as well as reinforcing that she would not call a national draft. In response, volunteer rates skyrocketed. Most of those who came out to enlist were many of the young generation, flooding the recruitment stations and going off to serve. Marshal-Bishop Zaloya Tervani, who was elected commander of this new army and of a religious persuasion, deemed the army an "Army of Light". The name stuck.

This new army found great success, and continues to do so to this day.
